Baikal Teal (Anas formosa) is an east Asian species that is a rare vagrant to North America. Primarily seen in Alaska this species sometimes shows up along the Pacific Coast of California, and even less often in interior states of the western U.S. This is the first occurrence for Arizona.

This bird was discovered at the Water Ranch in Gilbert in the East Valley of the Phoenix metro area by Gary Nunn on December 2, 2010. The most recent report is for Friday, December 10, with no reports through December 20.
